Mar Salá Band 


Mar Salá Band is a project devised by Marta Hernández (Mar Salá). Marta Hernández(Songwriter, Singer, Bandleader, Spanish Guitar) collaborates with many international musicians from diverse backgrounds and genres. She is based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

A Latin sound, prevailing the Rumba flamenca, Brazilian rhythms and Spanish pop, is her brand. Mar Salá Band is a cross over between the flamenco air of Seville and the eclectic sounds of New York City. "Primavera" and “Take Me to Bahia” both released in 2009, are two uplifting albums with original compositions by Marta Hernández, written both in English and Spanish. They show the wide range of her musical spectrum, going from Rumba Flamenca and Bossa Nova to Swing and Rock.

Liz Taub (Mandolin, Violin, Vocals, Songwriter), Victor Prieto, well acclaimed accordion player, bass players such as Pedro Giraudo, Chacho Schartz, Gustavo Amarante, Carlos Mena,Willie Harvey, Dan Martínez, Francesco Marcocci ; Coque González (electric guitar), percussionists such as Carlitos Maldonado, Joel E. Mateo and Antonio de Vivo, Flamenco Singer and Flute Player Alfonso Cid, Flamenco guitarist Raphael Brunn are among the many musicians that play regularly in the band.

Marta Hernández is now working on her third album, produced by Alejandro Zuleta to be released in 2013.
