LAST CONCERT OF THE YEAR AT TERRAZA 7
Looking forward playing again in 2013 at this funky place!! It has been a great year all together. Many new musicians, new experiences, many lessons to learn and to put into practice. New songs, new sounds, new places, new people. It is great to see the Mar Salá Band family expanding. I am really excited and proud to have welcomed and to work with musicians like Liz Taub, Joel E. Mateo, Carlitos Maldonado, Carlos Mena, Dan Martinez, Victor Prieto, Coque Gonzalez, Raphael Brunn..among others, and to continue with their collaboration with their own unique sounds. I thank very much Alejo Zuleta for the professional work he is putting into our new production, Entre 2 Rivers, to be released in the summer of 2013. I am also very excited about my own production SOUNDS OF SPAIN, a series of four concerts at CASA MEZCAL to start already in January 30 with Lara Bello. Ariadna Castellanos and Alfonso Cid are two of the other bands to be participating in this exciting project. Until then...I will be preparing to get ready to this 2013 that is definetely to be very SPECIAL for Mar Salá. Un abrazo para todos.

I like the atmosphere, the people, the setting and the vibe of Terraza 7. We presented new songs from Mar Salá Band new album to come: Entre 2 Rivers, a compilations of songs with a Spanish flavor and the sounds of New York City. I always feel between El Rio Guadalquivir (Seville)and the East River (Brooklyn), my two sources of inspiration.

Scott Rudd took all these amazing shots.

Fue como tocar en casa. It was like playing at home. I felt very much at ease and the audience was fun and receptive.. Great audience for wonderful musicians!! Thanks to all of you!!!
We played new and old songs that were welcomed by the audience with dancing,  cheering and laughing with the band

This was a super concert!!   Both the band and the audience had a great time...Only if the sound had been better...but nevertheless we were able to do quite a great job,..Victor Prieto played with his unique accordion sound.

The whole band...we sold out!!! Victor Prieto(accordion), Coque González (electric guitar), Dan Martinez (bass) and Carlitos Maldonado (percussion)..Grrrreat combo!!!

Victor Prieto, an accordion virtuoso. It has been quite a pleasure working with Victor for the past months. I have been collaborating with wonderful musicians that are keeping my compositions fresh and that inspire me to create and explore new sounds..Victor will be part of our third Mar Salá album coming up in 2013. I can´t wait to start recording!!!!

Coque Gonzáles is one of the talented musicians who will be recording with Mar Salá in the next album. His electric guitar is one of a kind. I truly enjoy working with him..His sound is giving some of my compostions the special edge i was looking for.
Raphael Brunn is a Flamenco guitar virtuoso, who will be part of our third album. Just you wait to listen to him with Mar Salá...This album is going to be a blast!!!

Very excited about this new Mar Salá project. We are in the firs steps of Pre-Production. We have already nine songs. We will be recording 10 original compositions. Stay tuned for details!
Alejo Zuleta. New York based composer, pianist and producer Alejandro Zuleta is from Bogotá, Colombia

What a night!!! Finally an audience that understood the lyrics of my songs...It was wonderful to connect with them and experience the pleasure of being completely understood!!! Thanks to the friendly audience at Terraza 7! Great community!!!

The hanging stage is fun and scary at
the same time. It is worth the experience.
We will be back soon!!!!

This summer of 2012 was richly musical. It all started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In this picture playing with Coque González.
